Bob Harris was born on April 11, 1946 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England as Robert Brinley Joseph Harris. He is an actor, known for Made (1972), Rutland Weekend Television (1975) and Bob Harris: My Nashville (2014).
He presents shows on BBC Radio 2 ("Bob Harris Show" on Saturdays and "Bob Harris Country" on Thursdays) and he was one of the original presenters on BBC 6 Music. Presented the award for Best Traditional Track to The Imagined Village, for Cold Haily Rainy Night, at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. (4th February 2008). Won a Sony Award for 'Music Broadcaster of the Year'. In 2003 he received the Radio Academy/PRS award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Music Radio'. John Thomson admitted that his character Louis Balfour in The Fast Show (1994) was conceived as a cross between Bob and the actor Roger Moore . He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honors List for his services to Music Broadcasting. He is a radio presenter.
